Research
My research focus on the understanding of the functioning of tropical forests plantations and agroforestry ecosystems, with the objective of providing scientific bases to improve the sustainability and to reduce the environmental impact of these ecosystems, in the context of global changes. For this purpose, I develop approaches based on modelling of biogeochemical cycles and on the analysis of remote-sensing data.
Carbon, water and nutrient cycles in tropical forest and agroforestry ecosystems
- Development of ecophysiological process-based models at tree scale (Maestra/Maespa model), stand scale (Castanea, G'Day) and regional scale (Orchidée)
- Main ecosystems studied: Eucalypt plantations, Mixed plantations, Coffee-based agroforestry, semi-arid agro-silvo-pastoral ecosystem
- Remote sensing data assimilation in process-based ecosystem models
Remote sensing for vegetation biophysical parameter retrieval and vegetation classification
- Satellite image time series analysis and link with forest properties: disturbances, biophysical parameters, temperature, and assimilation within process-based model
- Modelling of radiative transfer in leaves and canopies
- Hyperspectral remote sensing at the leaf and canopy scale
- Satellite Lidar for the estimation of forest biomass
- Land use and land use change: object-based classification and analysis of vegetation indices time-series for crop identification, machine learning
